A Stranger To The World
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”
I John 3:1
How great is the love God has for us. His love is great because He is great. There is nothing small or weak about God or His character. His love is strong, it’s never passive and it is boundless in supply. We can never do anything, say anything, or think anything that would stop His love or exhaust the supply of it. The love of Heaven marks our lives as belonging to God. It is this branding that separates us from the world and gives us the distinguishing beauty of Calvary written across our lives. Those who have never known of the deep love of God poured out upon us at Calvary will not be able to understand the affection Heaven has for us. It cannot be explained and the only way others can even begin to get a glimpse of its power is to see it lived out before them.
The world needs to see God’s love living before them. His love is an active force making it easy to spot! This love that we have been gifted with is also an entrustment; an entrustment to extend to others just as it has been extended to us. We will never have the right to withhold the love of God from another because it’s His love to begin with and He did not withhold it from us. We are only conduits of God’s love and as we release His love into the world we bring God honor and glory as our very lives become living love before others who so desperately need to see it.
It is only the love of God that separates us from everyone else. It’s the greatest thing about us and most importantly, it is the honor bestowed upon us through Jesus Christ at Calvary. It is what separates us from the rest of the world, and it is what gives our life the beauty and purpose God intends for it to have. But we were never meant to hoard Calvary’s love. His love is unfailing and it will never disappoint us. We can trust in it and place all of our hope in it. It is the love of God that will guard us all the days of our life and it will see us all the way to Heaven.
