The Place Of Keeping
"The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways"

When my girls were growing up, like most young mothers, my greatest fear was someone hurting them or taking them from me. The news was full of stories just about on a daily basis of missing children or children who had been murdered. I came to the place where I could live in fear of the unknown, not trusting God, or I could choose to set boundaries for my girls and entrust them into the mighty saving hands of God. So, while my girls were young, I established rules with them and set boundaries that they could understand and uphold. I wanted to do all that was humanly possible to keep them safe. I understood my responsibility as a parent and also where my ability to protect my children stopped and where God’s ability had to take over. I understood I was limited and He was not!
My intentions were to keep my girls safe because they did not understand the dangers of the world and they were very innocent and vulnerable. Boundaries were given to protect their lives, to help ensure their safety and as long as they remained in those boundaries they were safe and protected from harm. It was my place of safe keeping for my girls. God deals with His children in much the same way. He draws out holy lines around our lives to encircle us in His will in order to keep us within the walls of His purpose. This is the Lords’ place of keeping for His child. He knows that we are vulnerable and at times easy prey for the enemy who wants to steal and destroy our lives by luring us out of the holy boundary God has drawn for us. As long as we remain in those lines, we are protected and kept from evil, but if we step out of the parameters He has established then we step into the place where we are unprotected.
We understand His boundaries by knowing His Word. God takes His Holy Word and lovingly, as only a father can, establishes for us the land of plenty, the land of keeping for our lives. Every time we say yes to His Word we are keeping our feet inside the land He has laid out for us to prosper in. In the land of keeping, nothing formed against us can prosper, nothing can destroy us and none can overtake us. We are blessed and strong and kept within the power of His Word when we remain in the land of keeping. God has sworn to keep us holy if we will keep His Word.
We often question God when things go wrong when often times its not God that needs to be questioned but rather our compass because we’ve charted a course that God never led us to chart. God’s Word will be a shield about you precious one if you will take it up and place it before you. Every decision, every emotion, every thought, every desire, every word and action is to be filtered through that shield if we are to stay in the place of God’s keeping. God’s Word will never mislead you precious one.
