Destined To Live
“…in Thy book they, were all written, The days that were ordained for me….”
If you could take your fingers and take hold of the hand of God, there clasped tightly in the palm of sovereignty you would find everyday of your life laid out in perfect order. The perfect number of days, hours, and minutes, would be etched out with skill and perfection, woven into the very fabric of the will of Almighty God. The Master Artist purposefully painted every detail of everyday of your life, for they were created in the depths of eternity by the eternal One Himself before you were ever born. There is nothing that will happen in your life that could ever take Him by surprise, for He Himself has seen it, He has ordained it, and established it in His loving providence. Before He formed your feet of clay He had already carved out the path that they were to walk upon.
When you awoke this morning, your Heavenly Father was seated on His throne, reigning over the entire universe, and so it will be when you lay your head down to rest this evening. He is ever seated with all power and authority on the throne of grace. It is here in this seat of sovereignty that He has been everyday, every moment of your life, lovingly watching over every detail. God has not planned a work in your life – you are His work, and you are His life, His wonderful masterpiece. He has been with you since the moment you took your first breath, for He breathed life into you, and He will be with you when you breathe your last for He is your future. You are His namesake and He is your God. He is your Father and you are His child, and this is His day. Thank Him for it, praise Him with your life today, and bring glory to Him and Him alone.
Before the stars illumined Your sky above
You wrote this day in time with fingers of love
Before the sun ever set its face to rise upon the earth
You ordered it to shine this day, long before my birth
Before You carved the earth and its form did make
You etched this day’s course, every step that I should take
Before I woke this morning, or knew the path of this day
You wrote it in eternity so I would know the way

The sun will not rise on a day that He has not ordained, and neither will it set on one until He has accomplished all that He purposed to do.
