Walling In The Mind
"The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace…"
Joyce Meyer in her book, "The Battlefield of the Mind" says this about our thought patterns:
"Each day our minds are bombarded with a constant stream of nagging thoughts, suspicions, doubts and fears. While any one of these can cause defeat and devastation, we are often plagued by more than one…filling our daily lives with mental combat against an array of aggressors.
Since we fail to identify the battlefield, we also fail to correctly identify our foe. We tend to believe people, money, religion or "the system" are our problems. In an attempt to defend ourselves, we build strongholds in our mind. Strongholds are areas of thinking not based on truth but lies. Instead of protecting us, they actually imprison us. Unless we renew our mind, we risk continuing to believe those lies and making important decisions based on deception."
Powerful words aren’t they! How timely for us and the day in which we are living. We are overturned within every day by the assault upon our mind, upon the truth of God’s Word. Satan has created such a fortified enemy camp against God’s truth that when we stand for His Word, we become the target of great ridicule and persecution. Our world has exchanged the truth of God’s Word for a lie. And when truth is overtaken evil overtakes. Our thinking patterns become distorted .
The love for God’s Truth has waned in our generation and no longer holds its rightful place as first and sacred. We can no longer hang upon the classroom walls the ten commandments of God. Why? Because the enemy whispered in the ear that God could not be trusted, that His word was not true and a lie was embraced - exchanged for all that was good, right and honorable.
Truth is the devil's target.
