The Over-Comer
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world -our faith."
The world needs to see the overcomer emerge victorious among the devastations and reckless abandonment of all that is sacred and that sin has caught in its’ dredge. It is in this emerging that the birthright is acknowledged, and the heritage torch is lit with the fire of faith belonging only to the child of the living God. This torch burns as a victorious symbol to the world that the one who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ will prevail in the end. Faith is a conquering force that the world cannot reckon with. It is the emblem of the victory yet to be savored, the triumph that is just over the horizon for every child fighting in the battlefields of God. Battles in our lives will come and go, some more costly than others. But for the child of God, it matters not the intensity of the battle, nor the fierceness of the enemy, because the war by faith is knowing beforehand that they will be the one left standing in the end. Failure is assured and loss eminent when faith is absent.
Faith will always be present in the battles of the child of God who understands their heritage. Faith is never passive and it will never be defeated as long as it is active. Faith is one of the most powerful weapons in the life of a child of God. Without it, we cannot please the Father, and we will become a prey to everything and everyone who has set themselves as the enemy of God. Victories in life’s battles will never be known apart from our faith in Who Jesus is. Faith is your absolute in a world that isn’t, and no one can take if from you, beloved. It is your seal of authenticity, your anchor for the future, the reconciliation of your past, and the stability for the present hour in which you are living. We cannot win in the battles of life using our strengths, implementing our own strategies, doling out our hard earned money, exercising our current power, taking advantage of the influence we have, or drawing upon earthly wisdom we think we may have.
Faith is never blind and it is always active. It’s never based upon emotion, but rather it is founded upon the truth of the living Word of God. "Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). Because faith is based upon truth, it is never ignorant, and because it is drawn from the living Word, it is never complacent. It allows you to stand in the places where your feet would have fled from, if left on its own. It brings low the impossible mountain passages making a path for you to cross, and it brings hell to its knees. Lacking faith? Then drink in the waters of God’s Word continually, and the well of your soul will never lack the ability to draw out faith in time of thirst.
I will drink in thy word and draw out thy victory.
