Why should I create an account?

 

Creating an account on CrossCards.com provides the following benefits:

  • Access to an online address book of your contacts.
  • The ability to set up reminders for important dates such as birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Keeping track of e-cards you have sent and received.
  • Knowing when sent e-cards have been viewed.
  • Saving drafts of e-cards that you can complete and send later.
  • Tracking your favorite e-cards and wallpaper for quick and easy selection.

How do I create an account?

 
  • Open a web browser and go to www.crosscards.com.
  • Click on the "Register now for FREE" link in the upper left corner of the homepage.
  • Complete the account registration form and then click on the "Create" button. Note: The username must be 3-20 characters in the range with only the following characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, - (dash), _ (underscore), . (period).
  • If your registration is successful, click on the link to log into your account.

Why can't I sign into my account?

 

Have you verified that you entered your username and password correctly?  If you entered your password incorrectly, the “Password Assistance” form will appear, requesting that you enter your email address to receive instructions on how to reset your password.

If you don't remember your password, click on the "Forgot Password?" link in the upper left corner of the website in the login area.

What are my reminders?

 

My Reminders are alerts you can create for yourself to remember specific important events, either recurring events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, or special one-time events.  When you set a reminder, you will receive an email reminding you of the specific event so you won’t miss sending an e-card to that special someone on their special day.

 You can create reminders as follows:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Reminders” link near the top left corner of the website.
  • Click on the “New” button.
  • Click on the “Date” field and select the date of the event from the pop-up calendar.
  • Enter a name for the event in the “Name” field (e.g., “John’s birthday”).
  • Select the type of event (one-time or yearly) from the “Type” field.
  • Select when you want to receive the reminder from the “Alert” field.
  • Click on the save button to save your reminder.

How do I change my username or password?

 

You may change your password and/or username as follows:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Account” link near the top left corner of the website.
  • Move your mouse over the “Personal Profile” section and you will see an “Edit” link on the right side.
  • Click on the “Edit” link.
  • Use the form to edit your username and/or password in the appropriate fields.
  • When finished, click on the “Save” link to save your changes.

How do I send an e-card?

 

To send an e-card from CrossCards.com, please do the following:

  • Open a web browser and go to www.crosscards.com.
  • Search the various e-card categories on the left site of the website or use the search field at the top of the website to find an e-card to send.
  • Click on the e-card you want to send.
  • If the e-card is animated and you want to view the e-card before sending it, click on the “Play” button to view the e-card.
  • Once you have viewed the e-card, click on the “Send Now” button.
  • If you have already logged into your account, your name and email address will already be completed in the “From Name” and the “From Email” fields.  If you haven't logged in or don't have an account, then enter your name and email address in the "From Name" and "From Email" fields.
  • Complete the “To Name” and “To Email” fields. If you have already logged into your account, you may select contacts from your address book. Note: If you are entering the recipient's email address manually, make sure you type it into the "To Email" field; do not copy and paste it from another application as this may introduce hidden characters that will make the email address invalid.
  • If you are sending this e-card to more than one recipient, click on the “Add additional recipients” link to add more recipients to the e-card.
  • Enter the date you want this e-card delivered or accept the default date.
  • Enter the email subject line for this e-card or accept the default.
  • Personalize the e-card by entering a message of not more than 1,000 characters.
  • Click on the “Preview Card” button to view the e-card before sending it.
  • If you are satisfied with the e-card, click on the “Send Card Now” button to send the e-card.
  • If you want to make changes to the e-card before sending it, click on the “Make Changes” button to edit the e-card.
  • If you want to save the e-card as is and complete it at a future time, click on the "Save Draft" button.

I can't send an e-card. Now what?

 

If you are having difficulty sending an e-card from CrossCards.com, please check the following:

  • You have completed the “From Name”, “From Email”, “To Name” and “To Email” fields and have entered a message of no more than 1,000 characters in length.
  • When you entered the email addresses, you either typed them in manually or selected them from your CrossCards.com address book.  If you copied and pasted them from another application, that could be causing a problem with sending your e-card, as hidden characters may have been added to the email addresses.
  • Make sure there is no punctuation in the “To Name” field for any of the recipients.

If you still cannot send an e-card after verifying the items above or get an error message when sending an e-card, please send an email to cardcomments@crosscards.com with the following information:

  • A link to the e-card you were attempting to send.
  • The name and version number of the web browser you are using.
  • The name of the operating system running on your computer.
  • If possible, a screenshot showing the issue or error message you encountered.

How do I search for a specific e-card?

 

You may search for a specific e-card in one of the following two ways.

Category Search
You may browse the e-card categories listed on the left side of the website.  Click on the category link to expand a category, then view the e-cards in that category until you find one you like. Click on the e-card to select it.

Word Search
You may enter a word or phrase in the search box in the upper left corner of the website.  As you enter your search term, a list of e-cards and wallpaper matching that term will be presented.  Scroll through the list of items to find one you like and then click on the e-card to select it.

Why don't I see the "Send" button?

 

At times, the “Send Card Now” button may not render correctly in a web browser.  If you don’t see the “Send Card Now” button when you are ready to send your e-card, try saving your e-card as a draft, open a different web browser, log into your account on CrossCards.com and try sending your e-card again.  Also, please send an email to cardcomments@crosscards.com and tell us which web browser and version number you were using and that you could not see the “Send Card Now” button and we will investigate.

Why can't I view my e-card?

 

When you click on the link in the email to view the e-card, if the e-card window does not open, then most likely your web browser is blocking the pop-up window. To view your e-card, review the pop-up blocker settings in your web browser and make sure that your web browser allows pop-ups from CrossCards.com.

If you can open the window to view your e-card, but the card does not play, then most likely you do not have the Adobe Flash Player installed in your web browser. Please use this link to install the Adobe Flash player, and then try viewing your e-card again.

Why didn't the recipient get their e-card?

 

At times an e-card will fail to reach the intended recipient for any of the following reasons:

  • The email address was entered incorrectly.
  • The e-card ended up in the recipient’s junk mail folder.
  • The e-card was treated as spam by some email filtering software and was placed in quarantine.
  • The recipient’s email software has an opt-in feature which filters legitimate senders of email. The recipient must then select you as a legitimate sender of email in order for them to receive your e-card.
  • The recipient’s inbox may be full and unable to accept new messages.
  • The recipient’s email server may be inoperable for a period of time.

How will I know when the e-card I sent has been viewed?

 

When the recipient views the e-card, you will receive an email message from CrossCards.com informing you that the e-card has been viewed. If you don't receive a view confirmation email from CrossCards.com, either the recipient never received their e-card or that confirmation email ended up in your junk mail folder.

If you have an account on CrossCards.com, you may check viewed e-cards as follows:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the "My Ecards" link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Click on the "My Sent Cards" tab.
  • The "Read Date" column displays which of your sent e-cards have already been viewed and the date on which they were viewed.

Where can I pick up my e-card?

 

To view your e-card, just click on the link in the email you received informing you of an e-card waiting for you at Crosscards.com. 

If you have an account on CrossCards.com, you may also do the following to view any e-cards you have received:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Ecards” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Click on the “My Received Cards” tab.
  • Click on the e-card graphic or the sender’s email address to view the e-card.

Can I edit an e-card I've already sent?

 

If the e-card has been scheduled but not yet delivered, you may edit both the recipient's name and email address and the message of the e-card. If the e-card has been delivered but not yet viewed, you may still edit the message of the e-card. Once an e-card has been delivered and viewed, you may no longer edit it. 

To edit a scheduled but unsent e-card, please do the following:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Ecards” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Click on the “My Sent Cards” tab.
  • Locate the e-card you want to edit.
  • Click on the pencil button to edit the e-card.
  • Make any changes to the e-card in the form.
  • When finished, click on the “Preview Card” button.

How do I cancel an e-card I've already sent?

 

If the e-card has not yet been delivered, you may delete the e-card before it is sent.  Once the e-card is delivered, there is no way to cancel it.

To delete a scheduled but unsent e-card, please do the following:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Ecards” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Click on the “My Sent Cards” tab.
  • Locate the e-card you want to delete.
  • Select the e-card by clicking in the checkbox to the right of the "Read Date" column.
  • Click on the “Delete Selected” button to delete the selected e-card (you may delete more than one e-card at a time).

Where is my saved draft?

 

Your drafts are saved under your e-cards.  To access your drafts, do the following:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “My Ecards” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Click on the “My Draft Cards” tab.
  • Your draft e-cards will be listed in descending order by date sent.
  • To complete the e-card and send it, click on the "Finish Sending Message" link.

Your e-cards will be archived for one year from the date they are sent.

Can I print my e-card?

 

To print an e-card you may print the entire webpage on which the e-card appears using the print feature in your web browser.  Another option is to take a screenshot of the webpage on which the e-card appears and then paste that screenshot into graphic editing software in which you can then remove the content surrounding the e-card.

How do I add a contact to my address book?

 

You may add a new contact to your address book as follows:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “Address Book” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Once you are in the Address Book, click on the “New” button.
  • Enter the contact’s name in the “Name” field.
  • Enter the contact’s email address in the “Email” field.
  • In the “Description” field, enter the type of contact this is, such as family, friend, or co-worker.
  • Click on the save button (the green checkmark) to save this contact in your address book.

You may also import contacts into your address book. Click on the "Import Address Books" tab and follow the instructions.

How do I edit a contact in my address book?

 

You may edit a contact in your address book as follows:

  • Log into your account on CrossCards.com.
  • Click on the “Address Book” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Once you are in the Address Book, look for the contact you want to edit.
  • Click on the pencil button to edit the contact's information. You may edit the contact's name, email address, and description.
  • Click on the save button (the green checkmark) to save these changes to the contact's information in your address book.

How do I delete a contact from my address book?

 

You may delete a contact from your address book as follows:

  • Click on the “Address Book” link in the upper left corner of the website.
  • Once you are in the Address Book, look for the contact you want to delete.
  • Click in the checkbox to the far right of the contact to select it.
  • Click on the "Delete Selected" button to remove this contact from your address book. You may select and delete more than one contact at a time.

What if I don't see the wallpaper size I need?

 

If you don’t see a wallpaper size that matches your computer screen’s resolution setting, just select a smaller size than your computer screen’s resolution.  The wallpaper will then be displayed in the center of your screen surrounded by a background color.

How do I download wallpaper to my computer?

 

For Windows XP, Vista, and 7 users, please do the following to download wallpaper: 

  • Search the wallpaper categories to find the wallpaper you want to download.
  • Click on the wallpaper graphic.
  • In the “select size” box, select the wallpaper size that most closely matches your computer screen’s resolution setting.
  • When the enlarged image displays, right click on the image and select “Set as background” from the menu.  This will make the selected image your desktop wallpaper.
  • Click on the back button in your web browser to return to CrossCards.com.

For Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard users, please do the following to set a wallpaper: 

  • Search the wallpaper categories to find the wallpaper you want to download.
  • Click on the wallpaper graphic.
  • In the “select size” box, select the wallpaper size that most closely matches your computer screen’s resolution setting.
  • When the enlarged image displays, control click on the image and select “Use Image as Desktop Picture” from the menu.  This will make the selected image your desktop wallpaper.
  • Click on the back button in your web browser to return to CrossCards.com.

We currently offer wallpaper for the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone.

To set mobile wallpaper, do the following:

  • Under “Wallpaper Categories” on the left side of the website, click on the “Mobile Wallpaper” link.
  • Click on the graphic for one of the mobile wallpaper selections.
  • In the “select size” box, select the appropriate size for your mobile device.
  • Consult the user manual for your mobile device for instructions on changing wallpaper.
  • Click on the back button in your web browser to return to CrossCards.com.

  • Select “Properties” from the pop-up menu.
  • In the “Display Properties” window, click on the “Desktop” tab.
  • In the “Background” box, select a different desktop image or click on the “Browse” button to select an image from a different location.
  • When finished selecting your new desktop image, click on the “Ok” button to close the “Display Properties” window.

For Windows Vista and 7 users, please do the following to remove a CrossCards.com wallpaper from your computer:

  • Right click on the desktop.
  • Select "Personalize" from the pop-up menu.
  • In the "Personalize appearance and sounds" menu, click on "Desktop Background".
  • Select one of the default wallpapers or click on the "Browse" button to select a file from your hard drive.

For Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard users, please do the following to set a wallpaper:

Control-click on your Mac’s desktop and select the “Change Desktop Background…” option from the menu.  You can either choose from the pre-loaded images by selecting folders on the left or click on the '+' button near the bottom left to select your custom image. Just navigate to the location where you saved the wallpaper and click the “Choose” button and this will set that image as your desktop background.
